Personal Growth

Personal growth is the physical, social, mental, and spiritual development that allows a person to live a happy and productive life. It includes the necessary skills for successful intimacy, relationships, work, community, leisure, spirituality.

“Growth is the great separator between those who succeed and those who do not. When I see a person beginning to separate themselves from the pack, it’s almost always due to personal growth.” John C. Maxwell

Personal growth is for everyone.

Increasing personal growth is a goal of many men and women already successful. It’s also a goal of many with low self-esteem, intimacy and relationship problems, communication issues, anxiety and depression.

Whether already successful or suffering from nagging personal problems, people can improve and continue to grow. Some people find role models and teachers, study the personal qualities and challenges of others, attend workshops and seminars, and seek counseling.

Personal growth includes the following and requires action. Wanting something to change isn’t enough by itself. Positive change takes intention, action and practice. Go to the Resources page and see what’s available to help you make positive changes in your life.

There is no single path to personal success. We all have different goals, different strengths and weaknesses, different ideas and attitudes, and different ways of feeling successful.

It’s a mistake to judge success by someone else’s standards.

We may hold up certain people as role models, but their ideas and values may be different from our own. When searching for personal success, we need to be true to ourselves, hold onto our basic values, and stick to what is important to us.

Everyone is unique.

No two people are alike, not even twins. We all see, hear, feel, taste, and smell things differently. Not all situations are equal and different skills may be needed for each situation. One situation may call for logic, another for compassion.

There are many value systems. Follow yours.

There are the thinkers, the doers, the visionaries, the artists, the caregivers, the idealists, and others categorized by psychologist Carl Jung. Depending on the situation, one value system my take the lead over another. An improved understanding of ourselves and others will help us follow our own path of personal growth.

Belief, action, outcome

Everything offered on this website is here with the intention of offering a path to personal and spiritual growth. We are all connected, so the quality of our thought (our beliefs) not only dictates our actions, but is evident in the quality of our personal lives and how we interact with others.

The quality of life on our planet depends on the quality of our constructive thought, the actions that follow, and the results of our actions. Personal growth is a prerequisite to positive change and the effect we contribute to the whole.
